Milí priatelia,
ktorí ste poznali tohto skvelého človeka, vždy usmiateho a vtipného, srdcom oddaného tancom na ľade s ľútosťou oznamujeme túto smutnú zvesť. Všetkým nám, ktorí sme privoniavali k tejto disciplíne na najvyšších súťažiach ISU ako rozhodcovia bol skvelým priateľom a jeho šarmantné spôsoby a tak trošku aj milá noblesa a vtipné divadielka boli vždy vítané všetkými účastníkmi súťaží. Spomeňme si na neho v tichu domovov a nech odpočíva v
pokoji. Česť Tvojej pamiatke Hans.

It is with profound regret and sorrow that we inform you of the death of our good friend
and ISU Honorary Member
Mr. Hans Kutschera
At the time of his passing he was ISU Honorary Member, a role to which he was elected at
the 44th Ordinary Congress held in Davos, Switzerland in 1996.
Mr. Hans Kutschera died in Austria on July 5, 2011 at the age of 85.
Born on April 22, 1926, Mr. Kutschera was a skater and had a long and distinguished
career as an Ice Dance Referee.
Mr. Kutschera was first elected to the Ice Dance Technical Committee as a substitute
member from 1967 to 1969 and then as a full member from 1969 to 1984. In 1984 he was
elected chair of the Ice Dance Technical Committee and served in this capacity until
1996. For many years, he was a Referee at ISU Events in Ice Dance, a role which he
loved.
Mr. Kutschera played an important role in the development of Figure Skating in his home
country, Austria and played a key role in the organization of a successful ISU European Figure
Skating Championships 2000 in Vienna.
For a number of years, he held an active role as a Member of the Board of the Austrian
Figure Skating Association; he also served as President and was an Honorary President of
that Federation.
Mr. Kutschera is survived by his wife Pauli, their sons Hans Paul and Martin and his five
grandchildren.
The ISU pays tribute to Hans Kutschera’s devoted service to the ISU and asks Members
to remember him with affection.
